I'm a little confused about how to write the grant for our assignment. I know what I want to propose, however I don't know the cost of everything such as how much training per teacher costs, supply costs, etc... How do I do all this if I don't know the exact costs?

I wouldn’t worry to much about the exact price, for instance I wrote in that I would want a shower in the hygiene room because that is one things that we need right now in the school that I work in. Just try to think about the stuff that you would like to have in your jobsite now and that should help. Hope this helps.

This makes me think of using people first language. People first language is very important to me, and I notice people not using this language often (especially in written materials like articles, textbooks and newspapers). A person should be identified as them-self and not a label (that is hard to put into writing ... for example, we work with students with special needs or disabilities and so on ... NOT special education students, disabled students or special needs students). They are students, individuals, girls and boys before they are autistic, have ADHD or a learning disability .

AT is very important for all teachers to incorporate in their classes today. It is important because some of our students need AT and teachers serve as advocates and resources, the students can have a better chance in succeeding.:) This class is teaching me and exposing me to AT that I had no idea existed. Thank you

The following link is one that I will be sharing with the class, regarding a woman that has lost her leg during her efforts in the war in Iraq. I think that her reactions from her, what could be considered tragic events, is causing great outcomes. E+R=O (Event + Reactions = Outcomes)

We have seen how we can interact and "discuss", make suggestions, recommendations etc using this tool Anyone thinking about creating their own should give it a try
here is a ggestion list from some folks who have had success with WIKI's
How can wikis be used in the classroom? Group projects: Students work together in one place to research, outline, draft, and edit projects within the wiki Assignments: Post homework, course materials, study guides, and more. Resource Collections: Organize articles, websites, videos, and other resources for students Peer Review: Post questions for student brainstorming, or have students post papers for peer feedback Group FAQ: Students and/or teachers post and respond to questions on a given topic Parent Involvement: Give parents a chance to be a part of the classroom and stay up to date on classroom news and events Online Newspaper: Create a student-published online newspaper

I like the idea of using a wiki for a class. I like it because it help the students manage their assignments and also allows them to become interactive and communicate more effectively at times. I can see this impacting a student who needs to check for clairity with other students or a teacher after school hours in order to work on an assignment. I would also assume that this type of communication is less threatening to some students and this might help them feel more comfortable with thoughts and questions they may have.

"Computers are the biggest motivators for my students to finish their work. Once they are on it I have it set up to www.starfall.com ...... it is an excellent sight for a wide range of developing learners. " I use AT for a student in order for him to work and make some cash:). He is in a wheelchair, and with the same clicker that he operates his chair; one is able to manipulate it and install it in a paper shredder.
